Pottery Artist: Leo Blackhorse
LEO BLACKHORSE specializes in ultra fine etching and two-tone etching, where the artist etches through one layer of paint to reveal the next layer without going through it. Imagine the thickness of a layer of paint and you begin to see how difficult and time consuming this work is. The contemporary geometric patterns draw on several traditional designs including feather, steps, rain and a variety of spiral shapes. Each piece comes with an artist biography card for your display. Leo was born for the Hashk'aahadzohi' or Yucca Fruit Strung Out On A Line clan and born to the Todachinii or Bitter Water clan.
Leo Blackhorse mixes super fine two-tone etching with deep etched design bands in this piece with three bear poses.
NOTE - The camera has made the colors on this piece more shiny and brighter than they really are. The actual piece is warmer and more subtle in color.
